3.01 Carat Pear Cut Diamond, Fancy Intense Yellow, SI-1, HRD Certified

This is a natural pear cut diamond of 3.01 carat, colour Fancy Intense Yellow, clarity SI-1, with an HRD certificate. It comes from Royal Coster Diamonds in Amsterdam, the oldest still operating diamond polishing house in the world, founded in 1840.

The cut. The pear cut is rounded at one end and comes to a point at the other, a combination of the round brilliant and the marquise. The shape is usually worn with the point facing away from the hand, and it is a classic choice for pendants and drop earrings.

Colour. This is a natural fancy coloured diamond. The colour is part of the stone itself and is described on the certificate. In fancy diamonds the colour, not the absence of it, determines the value.
