1.11 Carat Princess Cut Diamond, WES-H, VS-1, GIA Certified

This is a natural princess cut diamond of 1.11 carat, colour Wesselton H, clarity VS-1, with a GIA certificate. It comes from Royal Coster Diamonds in Amsterdam, the oldest still operating diamond polishing house in the world, founded in 1840.

The cut. The princess cut is square with sharp corners and a brilliant style facet pattern. It combines the clean outline of a square with the light return of a brilliant. The pointed corners are best protected by a setting with a prong on each corner.

Colour. Wesselton H is near colourless. Face up the stone looks white. A slight warmth only shows when it is compared side by side with a higher colour.

Clarity. VS-1 stands for Very Slightly Included. The inclusions are small enough that they can only be found under 10x magnification. To the naked eye the stone is clean.

Certificate. The diamond was graded by GIA, an independent laboratory. The certificate confirms that the diamond is natural and records its weight, colour, clarity and cut.
