0.84 Carat Marquise Cut Diamond, TW-F, VVS-2, IGI Certified

This is a natural marquise cut diamond of 0.84 carat, colour Top Wesselton F, clarity VVS-2, with an IGI certificate. It comes from Royal Coster Diamonds in Amsterdam, the oldest still operating diamond polishing house in the world, founded in 1840.

The cut. The marquise is an elongated shape with a point at both ends. Because the weight is spread over a long surface, a marquise looks larger than most other shapes of the same carat weight. On the hand the length makes the finger appear slimmer.

Colour. Top Wesselton F is in the colourless range. Set in white gold or platinum, the stone shows no tint.

Clarity. VVS-2 stands for Very Very Slightly Included. The inclusions are so small that even a trained grader has difficulty finding them under 10x magnification.

Certificate. The diamond was graded by IGI, an independent laboratory. The certificate confirms that the diamond is natural and records its weight, colour, clarity and cut.
