0.83 Carat Marquise Cut Diamond, TW-G, VS-2, HRD Certified

This is a natural marquise cut diamond of 0.83 carat, colour Top Wesselton G, clarity VS-2, with an HRD certificate. It comes from Royal Coster Diamonds in Amsterdam, the oldest still operating diamond polishing house in the world, founded in 1840.

The cut. The marquise is an elongated shape with a point at both ends. Because the weight is spread over a long surface, a marquise looks larger than most other shapes of the same carat weight. On the hand the length makes the finger appear slimmer.

Colour. Top Wesselton G sits at the top of the near colourless range. Face up the stone looks white, in white as well as yellow gold.

Clarity. VS-2 stands for Very Slightly Included. The inclusions are small enough that they can only be found under 10x magnification. To the naked eye the stone is clean.

Certificate. The diamond was graded by HRD, an independent laboratory. The certificate confirms that the diamond is natural and records its weight, colour, clarity and cut.
