Artis Zoo

Artis is the Royal Zoo of Amsterdam, it was opened in 1838. In 2015 it was chosen as the best zoo of the Benelux. At Artis you cannot only visit all the animals you can think of, but you can also visit the planetarium, park and café. Artis has sea life, a monkey forest, a desert, a butterfly garden, a petting-zoo, a savanna and much more. Moreover, Artis always has great events planned for the upcoming spring and summer season. During the Easter weekend on march 25^th until march 28^th they have planned an Easter quest for the children, you can also pet the little chicks that were just born and they have a very fun and informative tour about all things blooming in the Zoo. As the cherry on top, on march 27^th and 28^th you can have Easter breakfast in Artis itself! During the May bank holiday there is an amazing tour in the planetarium, and on May 9^th you can come visit Artis as they tell you all about how Mercury moves in front of the sun. Zoos are not only for children, and Artis proves that by having ZOOmeravonden. This are evenings during June, July and August where you can relax in the Artis park whilst listening to live music. Besides all these events you can always visit on any other day, Artis is open from 9AM until 6PM.
