1.00 Carat Oval Cut Diamond, TCR-I, VS-1, GIA Certified

This is a natural oval cut diamond of 1.00 carat, colour Top Crystal I, clarity VS-1, with a GIA certificate. It comes from Royal Coster Diamonds in Amsterdam, the oldest still operating diamond polishing house in the world, founded in 1840.

The cut. The oval is an elongated version of the round brilliant, with the same style of faceting. The longer outline makes it look larger than a round diamond of the same weight.

Colour. Top Crystal I is near colourless. A slight warmth can be seen when the stone is placed next to a whiter diamond.

Clarity. VS-1 stands for Very Slightly Included. The inclusions are small enough that they can only be found under 10x magnification. To the naked eye the stone is clean.

Certificate. The diamond was graded by GIA, an independent laboratory. The certificate confirms that the diamond is natural and records its weight, colour, clarity and cut.
