0.90 Carat Oval Cut Diamond, WES-H, VVS-2, HRD Certified

This is a natural oval cut diamond of 0.90 carat, colour Wesselton H, clarity VVS-2, with an HRD certificate. It comes from Royal Coster Diamonds in Amsterdam, the oldest still operating diamond polishing house in the world, founded in 1840.

The cut. The oval is an elongated version of the round brilliant, with the same style of faceting. The longer outline makes it look larger than a round diamond of the same weight.

Colour. Wesselton H is near colourless. Face up the stone looks white. A slight warmth only shows when it is compared side by side with a higher colour.

Clarity. VVS-2 stands for Very Very Slightly Included. The inclusions are so small that even a trained grader has difficulty finding them under 10x magnification.

Certificate. The diamond was graded by HRD, an independent laboratory. The certificate confirms that the diamond is natural and records its weight, colour, clarity and cut.
