Though the Netherlands isn’t exactly famous for its cuisine, there are some eateries at Leidseplein that are considered typical Dutch. Not in the mood for a restaurant yet? Visit one of the many cafes at the Leidseplein. While you enjoy a local brew, try some Dutch snacks, such as bitterballen and other typical Dutch dishes.

2. Absorbing culture

As you may know, Amsterdam has a very rich and long history. Therefore, you can find plenty of museums here. Museums not really your cup of tea? Visit one of the movie houses or theatres. The Stadsschouwburg (performing arts theatre) offers many classical and experimental plays but is also a beautiful Neo-Renaissance building to see.

3. Shopping

However, you’ll see there is a variety of large international chains, small local fashion stores, and gadget stores. Between the Leidseplein and Royal Coster is the area with more luxurious products. The PC Hooftstraat is THE street to see and be seen. Strolling down the street, you can often see a celebrity or two shopping here.

4. Partying
